In the time when priest Grímur (Grímólfur) Bersason was a secretary for Jón Arnórsson, who was appointed as assistant to Hans Wium, the Magistrate in Mið- and Suður-Múlasýsla (1769–1778), it happened one evening during the dark winter days that Grímur sat in the twilight down in his room.
Jón's wife, who was named Guðrún Skúladóttir, was accustomed to lying down for a nap in the twilight in this same room, and she intended to do the same this evening, and walks into the room.
But when she wants to walk to the bed, Grímur stops her and asks her to wait a moment; she does so, yet notices nothing. After a short while had passed, Grímur asks for a light to be brought, and this was done, for he said that some trace of evidence would likely be seen.
When the light comes, he shines it into the bed, and three drops of blood are then seen there. He then says he had seen a woman come into the room, leading another by the hand, and she had lain down on the bed and given birth to a child there. And when the housewife had come in, the birth was at its peak, and these had been two hidden women.

Í þá tíð, sem Grímur (Grímólfur) prestur Bersason var ritari hjá Jóni Arnórssyni, er var settur til aðstoðar Hans Wium, sýslumanni í Mið-og Suður-Múlasýslu (1769—1778), var það eitt kvöld í skammdeginu, að Grímur sat í rökkrinu niðri í herbergi sínu. Kona Jóns, er hèt Guðrún Skúladóttir, var vön að leggja sig fyrir í rökkrinu í þessu sama herbergi, og ætlaði hún þetta sama kvöld að gjöra eins, og geingur inn í herbergið.
En er hún vill gánga að rúminu, varnar Grímur henni, og biður hana að bíða við, og gjörir hún svo, en verður þó eigi neins vör. Að lítilli stundu liðinni segir Grímur að koma með ljós, og var það gjört, því hann kvað einhvern vott vegsummerkja sjást mundu.
Þegar ljósið kemur, lýsir hann í rúmið, og sjást þar þá þrír blóðdropar. Segist hann þá sèð hafa konu koma inn í herbergið, og leiða aðra við hönd sèr, og hefði hún lagzt upp í rúmið, og alið þar barn, og þegar húsfreya hefði komið inn, hefði staðið á kollhríðinni, og hefðu þetta verið tvær huldukonur.
