How to play the game

Setup

Each player open the book and pick a topic.

Word Generation

Thinks of words related to the topic and writes them into the empty squares on their own grid.

Watch Out: Some squares may have special restrictions. Check the bottom of each square for specific rules.

Crucial Rule

The center square is your Secret Weapon

Keep it Hidden: Do not let anyone see this word.

The Danger: If another player calls out the word you wrote in your center square, that square is DESTROYED (cross it out). You can no longer use it to make a line. (Note: If a player calls out a word that is not in their center square, their card remains safe.)

The Clash: If two or more players write the exact same word in their center square, a Clash occurs! All players involved in the clash must DESTROY their center squares immediately (cross them out).

Who Goes First?

Compare words! The player with the longest single word on their grid goes first.

If words are the same length, the word that comes first alphabetically (A-Z) wins.

Play proceeds clockwise.

Gameplay

Players take turns calling out one word from their grid.

If a word is called, everyone who has that word on their grid circles it.

Winning

The first player to complete 3 Lines (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) shouts "BINGO!" to win the game.

Strategies to win

The "Safe Bet" Strategy

  • The Concept: Aim for Resonance.
  • How it works: Write down the most common, popular, or obvious words related to the topic. Example: If the topic is "Fruit," write Apple, Banana, or Orange.
  • Why it works: In this game, if anyone calls out a word you have, you get to circle it! By choosing common words, you increase the chances that other players will call your words for you. Sit back and let them help you win!

The "Length Master" Strategy

  • The Concept: Seize the Initiative.
  • How it works: Deliberately think of the longest, most complex word you can find for the topic. Example: Instead of Pear, write Pomegranate.
  • Why it works: Remember the rules: The player with the longest word goes first. By securing the first turn, you control the flow of the game and can immediately cross off a key word to set up your winning line.

The "Mind Reader" Strategy

  • The Concept: Know Your Opponents.
  • How it works: Don't just write what you like; write what you think your friends will write. Example: If you are playing with a coffee addict, write Espresso or Latte.
  • Why it works: You are using your friends' habits to score points. When they inevitably call out their favorite things, you will be ready with a smile as you circle that square.

The "Fortress" Strategy

  • The Concept: Protect the Secret Center.
  • How it works: For your Center Square (The Secret Word), choose a word that is extremely unique, obscure, or personal—something no one else would ever guess.
  • Why it works: The Center Square is dangerous; if someone else calls it, it gets destroyed! By placing a rare word here, you ensure it stays safe until the very end of the game, allowing you to use it for the final winning move.
